New 3D printer can make self-assembling electronics

Researchers from MIT and UMass Amherst developed a unique 3D printer. The printed items begin to shape into the designed form after printing without any assistance.

3D printed products usually have the final form right away. Sometimes folding structures are produced for convenience. Among other new products similar to a unique printer – printable structures that will fold themselves when heated or immersed in water.

A new development does not need any assistance of external factors. You just have to peel off the substrate from the printed electronic device, and it takes its final form.
