Innovation from Google: now robots will be able to train each other

Google has challenged itself with a difficult but rather promising task – to teach robotic assistants not only new functions, but also how to share acquired skills with their “colleagues”.

Meanwhile they can do such simple actions as open doors or move objects. But the company has long-term plans, so soon tasks will get more complicated.

Industrial robots were trained according to the method of operant learning. It implies learning that occurs through positive feedbacks for correctly fulfilled actions. Several robots are taught to fulfill different tasks, and afterwards they share information with each other.  All obtained information is stored on the server, therefore having taught one robot, you automatically teach all other robots, connected in a neural network.

It is considered that this method will turn robots into true assistants that will serve their owner for a long time thanks to the capability of fast learning.
