A lot of people know what 3D printing means or at least partially understand the operational concept of 3D printing equipment. Well, and what have you heard of 2.3D printers?

Casio has presented a 2.5D printer called Mofrel with a new digital layer technology. The device lays a wide range of various materials on А4 sheets and paints them. It can process such materials as leather, fabrics, wood etc. Its color palette consists of 16 million tints.

Printed items look quite realistic due to the high digitalization level. For instance, one can notice suture line stitches and skin crevices. Even such solid materials as stones and bricks seem to be so natural. Printing of one sheet costs 10 dollars, which is quite cheaper than real materials.

Currently, the price of this printer is 44 400 dollars. Many electronics and car manufacturers have become seriously interested in such a device, while some of them already use this technology for their developments.

Company representatives are going to issue the first printer version at an affordable price in 1.5 years.
