3D printing will help you achieve the perfect nose shape

More than a thousand nose jobs are performed in the US and Europe each year. Some people do rhinoplasty due to problems with breathing or trauma, some just want to change their appearance, become more attractive. However, there is no universal "perfect" nose, so each time doctors look at the shape and proportions of the patient's face, so that he or she is satisfied with the result of the surgery. Thanks to 3D printing, rhinoplasty will become better and more effective.

Medic Hernan Chinsky and software developer Ricardo Lerh have developed a special application that helps plastic surgeons select the best nose shape for a certain face. They studied various data and came to the conclusion that the "perfect" nose should be in harmony with other features.

Using the 3D-modeling program Sculptris, professionals created six models of "perfect" noses, which were printed out on a 3D printer. Experts were setting the printing parameters for a long time and selected the best materials for the prototypes to be perfect.

Now, each surgeon will be able to study the proportions and anatomy of a certain nose shape, having a printed example. The physical model can be also shown to the patient, so that he or she can see how the nose will look after the surgery.
